The City of Turku goal is to become carbon neutral by 2029. In order to attain this, the Turku area greenhouse emissions will be reduced by at least 80 percent by 2029 in comparison with the 1990 level.
The vitality and growth of the city should build on a foundation that is ecologically, socially and economically sustainable. By 2040, we will implement the principles of resource efficiency related to zero emissions, zero waste and the sustainable use of natural resources.
Circular economy is one of the main themes of the Turku industrial policy and the City is seeking to create the preconditions for developing Topinpuisto into a circular economy hub that is of significance even internationally.
